The Forum has its very own Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) who is registered with Dietitian’s Association of Australia (DAA) to provide nutritional assessments for a range of individual needs.
An APD has gained a nationally recognised university qualification that allows them to help individuals and groups understand the relationship between food and health. APDs undertake ongoing education and training to ensure the most up to date knowledge is obtained. APDs are trained to assess nutrition needs of individuals and groups, they can also assist people in the management of medical and health conditions using Medical Nutrition Therapy.
In Australia all APD’s are also Accredited Nutritionist, however NOT all nutritionists are dietitians. The key difference is that a dietitian has undertaken a course of study that includes extensive theory, supervised & assessed professional practice in clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy and food service management.
APD’s have extensive knowledge and consulting with a Dietitian can provide you with an array of health benefits and advice on:
Private Health Funds
Our Dietitian is registered with major health funds. Payment is accepted at time of consultation and a receipt issued for you to take to your individual health fund.
Medicare EPC Referrals
Our Dietitian is registered with Medicare to provide services as part of the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program. Please ask your GP if you qualify for an EPC referral. If so, you can claim a rebate back through Medicare for up to five visits to us over a calendar year. We request payment at time of consultation and issue a receipt.
