Gym Instructor / Member Relations Consultant

A rare opportunity has become available to join the Gym and Member Relations teams on a casual basis.

With a key focus on customer service and supporting our large member base, this role is ideal for a fitness and customer service enthusiast who can inspire the best in others!


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming all member and guests into our world class facility.
  • Acting as the first port of call for enquiries, both in person, phone or email.
  • Supervision of Gym patrons, members and guests and ensuring a safe and clean gym environment.
  • Delivery of the Skillathletic group training program on the gym floor.
  • Introduce new members to the gym and instruct on how to use all equipment properly to achieve their fitness goals.
  • Ensure Members and Guests enjoy a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate III and IV in Fitness.
  • Current Fitness Australia Registration.
  • Valid NSW Working With Children Check.
  • Current First Aid - HLTAID003 and CPR - HLTAID001.
  • Ability to work varied hours and shifts (7 days per week, between 5.15am – 10.00pm) across both Callaghan and Honeysuckle locations.

Childminding Assistant

Are you passionate about working in early childcare; providing a safe and engaging environment for Children?

Newcastle University Sport (NUsport) currently has an exciting casual opportunity for a Childminding Assistant working across its two facilities The Forum – University and The Forum – Harbourside.

This is the ideal opportunity for someone undertaking their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.


As a Childminding Assistant, your role will typically involve:

  • Supervision and warm interaction with all children
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met
  • Maintaining effective communication with parents
  • Completing general day to day tasks.

We have a current immediate opportunity for a range of morning and afternoon shifts.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for working with infants
  • Adaptability and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid - HLTAID003, CPR - HLTAID001 and WWCC.


Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care or working towards

Climbing Wall Instructor

NUsport currently has an exciting opportunity for a Climbing Wall Instructor working at The Forum University.

The Climbing Wall Instructor is responsible for monitoring and assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the rock-climbing facility and equipment. This person will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants.


As a Climbing Wall Instructor, your role will typically involve:

  • Supervision of children and adults utilising the climbing wall, including participants of school sport activities and events.
  • Technical and instructional support to climbing wall users ensuing procedures and risk management processes are utilised.
  • The regular inspection and maintenance of equipment.
  • The completion of all required administration related to the climbing wall.

Essential Selection Criteria

Successful applicants must have demonstrated experience in a similar role as well as:

  • Experience with providing technical and instructional support, as well as running safety and maintenance checks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Available Monday - Friday evenings.
  • Current First Aid - HLTAID003, CPR - HLTAID001 and Working with Children Check.
