Hi Forum Swim Academy Members

Welcome to the Silly Season!

At this time of year, we all have a lot going on and we tend to get tired, distracted and forgetful. While the following dates and information give you even more to think about, something not to compromise on is safety around the water. Please, stay alert this summer in and around the water and make sure you have fun while doing so!

Re-enrolment for Term 1, 2019 will commence next week. Please see the important dates below and also those for our extremely popular Holiday Intensive Program which will fill up quickly, so make sure you don't miss out!

Please remember that all customers MUST bring their Customer Access Card to each lesson and check-in through the turnstile to ensure fast access to the facilities and to reduce congestion at reception.

NSW OFFICE OF SPORT – ACTIVE KIDS PROGRAM

This government initiative is still valid for Forum Swim Academy members until Sunday 16 December - the last day of our priority re-enrolment. Please note the following:

  • The Active Kids Voucher or email confirmation detailing child’s name and voucher number must be redeemed at time of payment. Please ensure you bring a copy with you otherwise your booking cannot be processed.
  • Vouchers cannot be redeemed through online signup. Please contact reception to make your booking.
  • Vouchers cannot be accepted in arrears of making a booking, nor applied as a refund to a previous payment.
  • Vouchers are strictly one per child. They cannot be split between Active Kids Providers or used twice.
  • For children in Yellow and Red, please bring your voucher to reception for processing when confirming your booking.
  • For children in Blue Squad, please email your voucher to Barbara.Labrousse@theforum.org.au for processing.

The priority re-enrolment for Term 1 2019 is from Monday 26 November to Sunday 9 December. You will recieve the online re-enrolment email for Red and Yellow members with your unique link for Term 1 classes next week. Please use your unique link to enrol and pay online. If you have a an approved credit from Term 4, or need to submit a payment arrangement application due to extenuating circumstances, online bookings are not possible so please email beth.bird@theforum.org.au or call 4921 7337 prior to the payment deadline to arrange your booking. ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS CANNOT BE REDEEMED BY BOOKING ONLINE. If you are wishing to use this voucher, bookings must be made over the counter and the voucher produced at time of booking. Bookings can also be made over the phone once the voucher has been emailed to Beth or Barbara.

The watch list for progressions and class transfers for current participants will be completed Monday 10 December. Enrolments open for new participants on Tuesday 11 December. To ensure current enrolments get first preference for their current lesson, anyone wishing to change class times for next year are required to go on the watch list until priority period is complete.

If your child is progressing to the next level, please be aware that a new class time may be required as we cannot guarantee a class at the same time you currently attend. You can choose to re-enrol them in their current class to secure a place and be priority watch listed for the higher level, or, go directly on the watch list with no confirmed booking for Term 1. Whichever your preferred option, see the Pool Deck Supervisor or Member Relations to ensure you are on the watch list.

The Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre is host to many school swimming carnivals in 2019. This will affect the start time, number of lessons and cost of morning classes. Please click here for further information regarding classes and fees.

When re-enrolling, you will be asked to agree to our terms and conditions. Although you may have read these before, there have been some changes so I would ask you to read them again before agreeing and finalising payment.

Dive Clinics are back

With school swimming carnivals looming early in the school year, we are re-introducing our popular Dive Clinics to run for the duration of the Holiday Intensive Program. These lessons are a half hour of diving technique with up to eight children in a class. Bookings are available for Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 3.30pm at a cost of $10 per swimmer.

With such a long break between Term 4 and 1, the Holiday Intensive Program is a great way to ensure skills and technique are maintained. We will have three weeks of the program from Monday 7 January, and all Red and Yellow levels (with the exception of Yellow 1) can participate. Lessons are extended by 15 minutes with the exception of Yellow 2 which is still a half hour lesson. This is a great opportunity to re-enforce skills on a daily basis, a key component to fast-tracking learning. Bookings must be made for the week as per the below details also available on the website.

Blue Squads

Our Blue Squads run perpetually and therefore there is no need for re-enrolment. Please remember to request a timestop should you be having any time off during the school holidays. There will be no squad sessions held from the afternoon of Tuesday 24 December through to Tuesday 1 January inclusive. During this time Blue Squad swimmers will be able to access the pool to do their own training and Paul and Chris can provide programs if required. Please see The Forum website for changes to trading hours for the Christmas period. Direct debit payments will continue unless you arrange for a timestop.

The summer competitive season is in force with NUSwim Club members set to compete at Coast & Valley Championships at the end of this month and State Age Championships for 13 and over, mid-December. NUSwim Club welcomes new members to come and try club night on a Friday from 6.30pm. The club will not run during the school holidays.

Progressions Term 4

The Forum Swim Academy produces progression certificates for everyone completing the requirements of their current level and taking on the level above. As we are finding that very few people are collecting these from reception, we have decided to place them back on pool deck for you. Please see the pool deck supervisor for your certificate. Congratulations to all of the champions who have progressed this term. Click here to see who is on the list.
