Hi Forum Swim Academy Members

I trust everyone has enjoyed the Summer months with lots of swimming and that our warm weather holds on for a bit longer to get the most out of our lessons and squad sessions. I encourage you to keep your kids swimming throughout the year and help maintain their current form and enthusiasum.

I will take this opportunity to remind you that each child in the Swim Academy is issued a Customer Access Card. Please ensure these are brought to every lesson and remember to use the turnstile for accessing the facility. If you have lost your card please see reception. Bringing your card alleviates congestion and gives faster access.

The priority re-enrolment period for Term 2 will open on Monday 25 March and your unique link for online enrolment will be sent next week. Please use your unique link to re-enrol and pay online to avoid congestion at reception. If you require special consideration for Term 2 bookings, please contact me via  Beth.Bird@theforum.org.au or 4921 7337 prior to the payment deadline to arrange your booking.

When re-enrolling, you will be asked to agree to our terms and conditions. Although you may have read these before, there may have been some changes so I would ask you to read them again before agreeing and finalising payment.

ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

  • Vouchers cannot be redeemed through online signup. Please contact reception to make your booking and bring voucher with you.
  • Vouchers cannot be accepted in arrears of making a booking, nor applied as a refund to a previous payment.
  • Vouchers are strictly one per child. They cannot be split between Active Kids Providers or used twice.
  • For children in Blue Squad, please email your voucher to Barbara.Labrousse@theforum.org.au for processing.

Re-enrolment dates for Term 2:

Monday 25 March to Sunday 7 April inclusive - Yellow and Red stage priority enrolment period.

Monday 8 April - The watch list for progressions and class transfers for current participants will be completed.

Tuesday 9 April - Enrolments open for new participants.

To ensure current enrolments get first preference for their current lesson, anyone wishing to change class times for next term are required to go on the watch list until priority period is complete.

If your child is progressing to the next level, please be aware that a new class time may be required as we cannot guarantee a class at the same time you currently attend. You can choose to re-enrol them in their current class to secure a place and be priority watch listed for the higher level, or, go directly on the watch list with no confirmed booking for Term 2. Whichever your preferred option, see the pool deck Supervisor or Member Relations to ensure you are on the watch list.

Private lessons are available for all ages and abilities and are tailored to suit individual needs. Privates can be 1:1 or 2:1 and can be booked as a 30 minute or 45 minute class. All private lessons are payable upfront at time of booking.

The April Holiday Intensive Program is a great way to capitalise on the extra swimming time Summer brings and fast track your child's progression through the Swim Academy. Due to the public holidays, we will be running the program for only one four day week. Our last program was so successful with a mountain of improvement from the children that I hope you will all be returning for a top up! Please book early as I would love to accommodate everyone and can only provide extra classes and staff if I know we have the demand. The table below gives class times and prices. Our Red 3 sessions will also cater for Blue 1 swimmers, just advise staff when booking so we can identify the respective lessons and deliver the best program possible.

Our Holiday Intensive Program includes 45 minute classes for Yellow 3, Red 1 and Red 2. Yellow 2 classes are the usual 30 minutes and Red 3 classes are one hour with prices fixed at the same rate as regular lessons. Not only is this great value for money but also an excellent opportunity to re-enforce skills on a daily basis, a key component to fast-tracking learning. Bookings must be made for the four days. No make ups.

Blue Squads

Our Blue Squads are run perpetually and therefore there is no need for re-enrolment. Please ensure you are attending the session(s) you are booked into.  Make-up policy applies for Blue 1 and 2 swimmers.  Please remember to request a timestop should you be having any time off during the school holidays. This includes the Easter four day break when no squad sessions will be run by coaches. You are welcome to swim during our reduced trading hours as advertised on the website or change your day of training around the break. If neither of these options are convenient, a timestop request will need to be submitted via the website. Please note, timestop is for a minimum 14 days period.

Not only are our Blue Squad swimmers excelling in the pool, but recent NSW Surf Lifesaving Championships gave two of our young Forum Swim Academy members a chance to show off their skills in the ocean. Lily Egan and Andie Widseth are the NSW Under 10 and Under 12 Swim Champions respectively. What an achievement! Congratulations girls!

The next big challenge is NSW Stage Age 10 to 12 Years Championships. Good luck to all NUSwim members who have qualified. NUSwim Club welcomes new members to come and try club night on a Friday from 6.30pm. Please note, the club will not run during the school holidays.

Progressions Term 1

The Forum Swim Academy produces progression certificates for everyone completing the requirements of their current level and taking on the level above. As we are finding that very few people are collecting these from reception, we have decided to place them back on pool deck for you. Please see the pool deck supervisor for your certificate. Congratulations to all the champions who have progressed this term. Click here to see who is on the list.
