I joined when i started University in 2003. So I have been a member for over 9 years.
1. The staff (both administration and instructors) are always so friendly and helpful. I am always greeted with a smile and staff take the time to talk and take a general interest in you.
2. The large variety in class options and equipment, and having acess to both sites.
3. The instructors are obviously dedicated to their role as fitness instructors and their own fitness, I find this motivating.
4. Clean and up to date facilities.
Definitely Body Pump classes for overall toal body strength conditioning, and RPM a very close second. I find the classes a great way to stay motivated especially on those hard days!
1. As a physiotherapist, I feel quite strongly and advocate for people's fitness goals, and I feel that it is important to lead by example with what I teach clients.
2. I initially started going to the gym to improve my general fitness. However, three years ago I started running City 2 Surf in memory of a friend who lost his battle with muscular dystrophy...now I train regularly at The Forum and off site to improve on my running, general strenth and conditioning. Each year I set my goal to better the previous year's result. I also play netball and have found that attending regular classes at The Forum has helped with my court fitness, injury rehabilitation and prevention.
3. In terms of achieving goals...for me routine works. It's sometimes hard to stay motivated, however it really is mind over matter. As long as you have an achievable goal set in your sights that generally wins at the end of the day. As much as fitness is personal, it also helps to have friends there to motivate and inspire you. A big thank you to all the lovely staff at The Forum, especially Katie, Helen and Cameron!
