A word from the new leader of the pack

Welcome to new Head Coach – Paul Sharman

“I have been working in the aquatics industry for the past 15 years, starting as a Learn to Swim instructor, and then slowly working my way up to the Head Coach position. I have been in the role of Head Coach for the last 9 years and in that time have been lucky to coach countless Country, State and National medallists.

I have coached on several Australian teams including the Trans Tasman Youth Team (2007), two Olympic Youth Festivals (Sydney 2007/09), the Oceania Championships (Christchurch NZ 2008), and the Commonwealth Youth Games (Pune, INDIA 2008). In 2010 I was awarded the NSW Age Group Coach of the year award for winning the NSW State point score.

I have a 20 month old son called Darby (named after The Hotel Delany on Darby St...no really...) and I’m loving my coaching again after 12 months off pool deck (6 months working in Sydney and 6 months travelling around Reunion Island, Mauritius, and the Aussie East Coast!). I’m looking forward to the challenge of continuing the success of the swim program at The Forum, and have been extremely impressed with all the athletes, facilities, and of course the wonderful staff!

When you can't find me on pool deck, you'll most probably find me at a swim meet...Bar Beach...The Del...or at home with my Darby Man and a fine bottle of Shiraz! I'm terrible with names but great with faces, so please don't be afraid to scream your name at me each time we cross paths!”

Private Health Fund Rebates

Did you know that The Forum is registered with most private health funds for rebates in gym membership, personal training and exercise physiology fees?

Rebates vary between health funds but are usually in the form of a reward for healthy lifestyle choices and typically range from $50 to $200 per year.

Remember, all funds are different!

Some funds may simply need to sight a receipt for services for you to make a claim.  In some cases, a GP referral may be required to indicate a health or medical reason for a fitness program to be undertaken. Check with your own health fund and your level of cover.
If you require a receipt for your health fund, contact info@theforum.org.au
